Spring's In The Air

We will miss the winter's cold in our summer heat
The nightly storms when the thunder rolls its beat
A pouring rain hits the window pane from the outside
When the sleepy moon hides behind the cloud in the sky

Spring awakens no one cries cause winter's dying today
Our feathered friends are in the warmth and here to stay
The green of the earth the ole winter frost has been gone
Dandelions in the gentle breeze are happily dancing along

The fresh morning dew has a sweet taste in the sunshine
Soon the roses will take a new growth in planting time
We will see spring in shades of color upon the glowing earth
We know spring has arrived because God has given a new birth.

Life In The Bootheel

Our family lived in the back woods out on the farm
Raised in Missouri up before the sound of alarm
Day begin bright and early with rise of the sun
Our work as it started it seem never to get done

The hands used by mother they bled in winter time
My heart would hurt for her she was so very kind
Farming by the sweat of the brow is what you work for
Back in those days each one of your dreams seemed to soar

Life was not easy being a shared chopper working the land
We trust in God with love our garden food we had to canned
The crops was cotton and corn and livestock to be fed
Living a poor man’s ways night and day never to succeed

A household of children went to school we had better learn
Life in the bootheel we worked in the fields as hot sun to burn
Where the dirt was gumbo our life along the mighty river banks
Under a roof with parents at home you was not to old to be spanked

Secrets

Secrets
Years go by, secrets become disclosed and solitude in my ownspirit lost to silent. Integrity, with knowledge to conquer the secret and to lay behind the hidden door. Locked inside the mind, suddenly it's a complete burden, a mystery to oneself, not to beneglected or violent, it would like to speak out a loud cry full of hostility, only to walk the floor.Secrets is only the hidden truths that troubles the heart, if it can find a place to hide. Let the Lord be the comforter and the communicator to the family, then there is a peace of mind. God did not make a perfect family to have absolute faith in Him. The willingness to confide in secrets are common in life. The heart is the keeper, the key is the treasure like no other of its kind,When there is a confession of a secret, be the listener, don't be the betrayer, when trust is broken, the language of love becomes betrayed, Be the rock to lean on when confronted the secret of another. The gift of a secret can unwrap the happiness, the sadness, and the weakness. The truth needs to be in the eyes of the beholder, love that endures the beauty Don,t, let hope escape it is on scared grounds as we walk through life with each other. For a family, the language of love is a word so complicated, it can not be understood. Lord take care of what we cannot see, when love knocks at my door, in reality, may we have the key to open.

Our Sunset

The beautiful lake has a stillness in reflection

From it’s horizon as the day says goodbye

A lovely sunset has a spectacular view

In the orange shade of color in the October sky

Along the shore line you and I walk in the

Evening glow as the sun went down

Our voices echoed to each other in the lovely

Twilight of our words spoken in a beautiful sound

You and me in the cool gentle breeze

You wrapped your arms tightly around me

In a moment after the sunset you

Kissed me in the shadow of the pine trees

Broken Dreams

A lonely bride stood still in her very own day dream
Tear’s fall silent inside her heart with pain to scream
In a dress of white the moment was here of her dream
The wedding palace she stands in a lonesome scene

She’s a mystery bride she holds within her vow to be said
A misty sky in foggy blue through these things she dread
Where was he? The love of her life was nowhere insight
In waiting for this day to wear the beautiful dress of white

The organ is playing the wedding march a melody of love
The beautiful sad bride she had second thoughts thereof
This day at the altar was different she just wanted to die
Her own world had crumbled, so she needed to run and hide

She said her good bye to yesterday’s dream right away
In life there is some choices within me to be made
Yes my love did me wrong he had left a dear John note
He’s messed up my life it’s not for the better it’s a joke.

A Love Dream

The twilight moon hanging at dawns eve
Loving your warm body it embraces me
We are cradled in dreams I do believe
Darling old fantasy how can I not see

Enticing our love with sweet velvet wine
Why can’t we handle two hearts of a kind
We fell in love so deeply we are not apart
Bringing us love to feel each others heart

You take me into another world far beyond
Into our loving desire comes alive to respond
Touch me darling it’s been there quite a while
With pillow talk that we can do it our style

Only a dream to disturb my sleep tonight
Honey, I felt your arms around me tight
You gave me kisses and spread them with love
I long for you daily like for the heaven above

Love Forever

Satin sheets with fancy lace
Tangle upon my bed
Red rose petals trace a trail
Of hidden notes unread

To fill our hearts in stolen
Moments to echo in the night
Together we had found love
The eclipse of a full moon light

Take me into your arms
Give me an embrace to last forever
We were cryin in the wind
From the window a love to endeavor

Then we loved thru the night
A far place had a lovely glow
There was a special magic
To our beautiful world below
